Give a Truly Thoughtful Gift This Year

It’s The Gift You Will Be Remembered For.

Did you know that the most beautiful gift you can give anyone is the gift of reliving a coveted memory?  We can almost guarantee that this will be the best and most thoughtful give anyone can give.  Well-restored images are not only beautiful, but they also bring back memories of another era, of simpler times, with family and loved ones.  You will love our results and they will love you for taking the few extra minutes to give them the most thoughtful gift they have ever received.

#1 Family Heritage Wall

Restore That Photo You’ve Been Meaning to Frame For Years

It is quite trendy to adorn walls with an eclectic mix of photos and frames of all shapes and sizes. Add to that, the enjoyment of reviving family photos to enjoy the memories over and over again. Its’ easy to see why we are often asked to restore and reframe family photos for a specific size and framing request.

Most families have some amazing photos in little albums buried in cabinets that will never get to shine. Do you have “That Photo” that you always thought was just too good to remain hidden?

#2 Give Your Father a Beautiful Memory

This image was brought in to our studio by the son of the gent in the photo.  He spoke of how knowledgeable his father was when itt came to all things mechaniucal.  He spoke of how he used to work with his Dad when he was much younger and how much he enjoyed histime with him.

While his father no longer worked in the shop, his son wanted to say thank you and rekindle the memories of that time.  It was a beautiful sentiment!

#2 One Sister’s Gift to The Other

This image was brought in by the younger sister.  It was an image from 1956.  It was just a small photo, heavily faded and torn and creased.  The younger sister thought this photo was past redemption.  It was alsways a favourite of hers and it was something she wanted to do to say thank you to her “Big Sis”.  The colours really popped and we really loved creating this wonderfiul gift for her.

” I Can’t Thank You Enough For Your Amazing Work!”

A Letter From One Of Our Favourite Customers

A Customer from QLD Was Kind Enough To Write and Send Back Photos.  “Thank You Sandy!”

” I just surprised my 95 year old Grandma with the photo of my Grandfather you restored. When they went through cyclone Ada in the 70’s they lost most of their photos. The one you restored was previously defaced by my then very young Aunty in 1965 & of course out of all the photos it was one of their few possessions that they recovered To give this to my Grandma after so long was so special. THANK YOU!!

We were so happy to have been able to do this for Sandy!

#2  One Player’s Gift to the Team

A Request From One Player of a WA Football Team From 1955

We had a call from one gentleman asking if we could piece together a very tattered football plaque from 1955. the edges were ripped and torn and the image heavily marked. He was going to a reunion of the guys that were on the team and wanted to bring them a memento of the days they played together.

We fixed the photo and typeset the document and brought the two together. we then proofed frame options online and framed the trophies for the team.

#2 What Can You Do With These Cards

A Special Request From the Children of an Artist

Creativity Comes From our Customers

We spoke with the grandchild of an artist in Western Australia who used to paint hese small cards for her and here sisters when they would have family get-to-gethers.  They had been sitting around for years and she had always wanted to do something special with them.  We scanned, repaired and reprinted so that all siblings could share and enjoy a copy of their own. Some things are to special to languish in drawers.

# Interlocking Frames from Your Photos

I Want a Centre Piece – I have a Few Images – Can You Help?

This was the request from a previous customer in Sydney. He stated that he had a few images that he loved from his sailing days. They weren’t in great shape and just asked us for suggestions. We spoke with him for a while. We determined the size of the area he had to spare, instructed him in scanning the images properly and we created an interlocking Gallery Wall with his restored and framed images in the size he wanted.

We also proofed the images so he could see how everything fit together before we printed and proofed.

The Process!

We have a range of city and world maps that are customisable.

You can choose to customise most of our maps.  We set the centre of the map based on your postal code (for city maps or address for cropped maps) and you can request the placement of icons in various locations such as your home to signify your address or love heart to let people know where you met you significant other.  Additionally you can customise the size and colour of our customisable maps.

We will send you a proof of the map just to make sure that everything is in the right place and it is perfect.  Once you give us the go-ahead, well print the approved version and have it on it’s way to you. We are all about creating big, bold and beautiful prints so feel free to customise your new Map Prints knowing they will look just as great in years to come as they do when you receive them.

Sending Photos

Fine text and lines on maps means that print quality is important.

We are avid cartographic admirers.  And so is just about everyone we speak with.  We’ve heard about the pitfalls of buying intricate works online from other Companies.  Maps reproduction requires quality equipment and experienced staff to reproduce.  The nice thing is that although your prints are the highest quality online, you art is very affordable.    So it’s nice to know that we design all our work to be as crisp and legible as the day is was written (often with quill pen back when some of these works were first created).

Which Map is best for your decor.  Here is a rough guide.

Our retro maps date back to mid last century and brandish those great retro hues and mild wear characteristics that you want from a great retro print.  We only sourced maps guaranteed to have that “Wow”, factor.  Let’s face it – it’s always just a little bit awesome when your friends admire your taste. The thing is that some of our brighter coloured maps (Arlington or Sulphur colour for example) are great Vintage maps or modern cartography, each has its appeal and based on your setting and design.  We have amassed a collection that spans these designs with locations and towns from all places in this big brown land we call Oz and further afield – Like Tassie!  Actually we have maps dated yesterday and we also carry map prints dating right back to couple of hundred years ago.  So you should be able to find that perfect art map for your home – or as a great gift.

If you have a contemporary decor you can order one of our NEON Maps, printed on a delicious pearlescent print media that has stunning commanding colours.  These maps come in 9 colours including minimalist monochromatic to bold Fuchsia and Neon Blue tones.

At the other end of the spectrum, we have our Vintage maps, some of which date back to the 1800’s.  STOP!  Don’t be thinking that we’re talking about those old, dark, stained, blurry maps you see online.  We’re talking about beautifully restored, bright maps created by the world’s best cartographers coupled with our high end printing and design.  Here is an example of a beautiful French map from 200 or so years ago.  Great in a contemporary or French provincial setting.  Quality never goes out of style.

Thoughtfulness

There is just something magical about maps that everyone loves.

Are you a lover of cartography too?  Maps have always been more than just a way to convey graphic information.  Beautifully designed maps are nothing short of Art and evoke memories of places we have been and people we have met along the way.  They can beckon us to return to countries and places we have visited and loved or inspire us to go places yet undiscovered.  Maps can be a talking point upon which we can reminisce with a friend about funny anecdotes during a gap year in Europe or about our remind us of a little village in on a tropical island when we were welcomed by the locals.  Maps remind us of the geographical trajectory of our lives, acquaintances and experiences. And, of course, maps can bestow upon us a pride of place and still be objects of Beauty and Art (both word should always be capitalised) with which we can adorn our walls and feel as though the far flung places of the world and people we love are just a little bit closer.  All that being said – They also just look great!
